A little bit about me!
Name: Tiana Gairns Sport: Ski Cross Team: Canadian Ski Cross National B team Home Town: Prince George Skis: Stöckli Boots: Dalbello Poles: LEKI Raised in the northern city of Prince George, BC, I grew up in an active family. My childhood was filled with sports and the outdoors; I was always skiing, hiking, biking, playing soccer, doing gymnastics or just running around in the woods. Since the winter is the dominant season in PG, alpine ski racing soon became my favourite sport. The PG Ski Club cultivated my love for skiing and competing, and brought me teammates that will be my friends for life. I raced Alpine until 2015 when I was introduced to ski cross... I fell in love with the head to head racing, and with the unique features that challenged me, which changed course to course. Scouted at Canadian Nationals I was invited to a National Development Team camp. I was then named to the Prospect NextGen Team and learned a ton the next season! In 2016 I was on the National Development Team, and now in 2018 I was named to the Canadian National Team. Currently, I am ranked 24th in the world, and am 2nd in the world for U21. |
